Tried and True Charlotte Russe or Bavaroise/Bavarian cream recipes

I'm overwhelmed by the different recipes I've found online. Do you have any recipes you'd recommend?

  1. I was in the same boat as you a few months ago. I was really short on time and my layer cake is labor/time intensive to begin with, so I skipped all of the involved recipes and cheated..big time. It came out really great though.

    1 pack Cream Cheese softened
    2 packages Instant Vanilla Pudding mix
    3/4 cup milk
    12 oz Cool Whip, thawed

    Mix together cream cheese and pudding mix. Slowly add in milk. Fold in Cool Whip.

    I'll try to make the real thing one of these days! :)
