A friend of mine is getting married some time next summer and is looking for recs for his wedding reception. There will be a lot of people coming in from out of town so they would prefer it to be in down town Philadelphia. They have looked at all of the normal reception places and are now looking at private restaurants that would be a good fit. There will probably be be around 100 guests. Any suggestions?

Does anyone know of any restaurants that you can rent the whole place that'll fit about 100 people?

oh... i'd missed the criteria restaurants above. la famiglia has a nice room upstairs... however i'm not sure if it fits 100. i think i recall it fitting ~80 seated, but check... i could be wrong.

Bistro St. Tropez or Patou (same owner) would both work fairly well for 100 people and are reasonably priced. My wife and I had our rehearsal/welcome dinner at Patou with slightly over 100 and it was great....

not exactly in center city but close, my friends are having their april reception at cescaphe in northern liberties, on 2nd st. i've been to a function there once before (not a wedding tho) and it was catered very nicely. the space is beautiful.

i would also check into the 33rd floor of the loews hotel! there are large conference rooms up there and the view is spectacular.

I just walked by what used to the M Restaurant today and thought what a great outdoor space for a wedding. Here's the link http://www.morrishousehotel.com/weddi...
