Lobster / Seafood in / Near Newport

Heading to Newport tomorrow with some friends to see the mansions, check out the seaport ...

Are there any good seafood restaurants (don't need to be fancy) for some good lobster, chowder, oysters, clams...?

Thanks

When in Newport, it is hard to beat The Brick Alley Pub, right on Thames Street. They do not always have lobster, but chowder, clams and other seafood are always on the menu. And they have an awesome salad bar!!

        Several good options.
Best seafood in Newport, IMHO, is Scales and Shells. Cash only. No lobster in the rough.
The Barking Crab may be what you are looking for (in the Brick Market). It is a touristy lobster-in-the-rough place.
Also Anthonys in Middletown. More authentic, local, less expensive.
