where are the best hot wings in chapel hill/durham?
I'm a big buffalo wing fan, and I pride myself on making great buffalo wings at home with my steamer & stove. However, I love going out for a half dozen wings and a couple cold brews. I moved away from chapel hill a few years ago, but I was recently back to visit and the next time I'm in town I would love to hit up some great hot wings. The best I have had so far in the chapel hill durham area have been at Tyler's Taproom in carrboro. Are there any other wings that reign supreme? Please advise. Thanks very much chowhounds!
I see that this is old, but after trying most of the wings places in the Triangle, I have to say Wild Wing Cafe at Brier Creek is the best if you order the wings extra extra extra crispy. They come out with a hot crunchy skin, covered in flavor, and moist, never-dry chicken meat on the inside. Very good. They also will do single wings, which make for good bookends to the meal. Their heat scale isn't perfect, and the sauces marked the same color are usually different heat levels in taste, but their hottest, the Braveheart, has serious kick - especially if it's made fresh that night. I go at least 2 thursday nights a month.
