New Year's Eve?

Just found out that I'll be in Calgary for New Year's Eve. Does anyone have any info on a food-based event on New Year's Eve this year? I'm bar-d and house-partied out and would really like something different to do.

    1. I am not sure if this is in your range but; Mercato is having a ticketed event. Its $250 per person, all you can eat and drink. It starts at 6pm with Hors d' oeuvres, around 10pm they are having a full dinner as well with a suckling pig etc. The event goes from 6pm to 2am. All you can eat and drink from Mercato?? If I were in town, I would be there in a heartbeat :)

$250? I'm sorry for that price I'd go to Chef's Table for the tasting menu. "All you can eat/drink" isn't a selling point for me.

I didn't realize there were any restaurants in Calgary that are having a chefs tasting menu as part of a New Years Eve Event. Could you elaborate? I am sure there are other people on this board that would be interested in such a thing. Especially if its one of the better restaurants in town.

Sorry I didn't mean to imply that Chef''s Table was doing a tasting menu for NYE, just that for the price I'd rather go there... Their site indicates they're usually closed on stat holidays for dinner. I've emailed them, if they have anything special planned I'll be sure to post it.

Wow, the Mercato option sounds great... except for the price... sadly, I'd agree that for the money, I'd track down some other options in town...

Although I love the idea of a tasting menu. Anyone heard of any place doing such a thing this year? I'll wait to hear back from you about Chef's Table - their food is outstanding...

Although I'm not sure if they are doing anything special for NYE's you might want to give Rush a call as they have a Chef's Tasting Menu and it is very good.

I heard from Chef's Table, they are doing a dinner on NYE but unfortunately they're sold out.
