Suggestions for an Affordable New Year's Eve Dinner?

OK I normally don't go out on New Years but this year I am branching out! Also, I don't want to spend whats left of my retirement account ; >

Here are my requirements:

$50.00ish for food only (a glass of champagne thrown in even better!)

I live near Encino but am willing to drive if its worth the drive....

    BLD 's website is showing a "pre-fixe" (good mnemonic for remembering the "x" is silent in prix, I guess) menu on New Year's Eve...$40pp, includes one glass of cham-pain, heh.

      It is not the greatest food on the earth but it is pleasant surroundings and quite good for what I believe you might be looking for and that is the Smokehouse in Toluca Lake. The food price tab can easily be accomplished most likely leaving enough for that glass of Champagne. Call first though because they may be having a special menu for New Year's Eve.
