Help! Olympia recommendation please...

afrikando Dec 27, 2008 09:46 AM

Last minute (cause I'm an awful procrastinator): I'm looking for a restaurant gift certificate to give for a milestone birthday. Olympia area. Want to spend 100 bucks. Person is a foodie so place needs to be up to snuff--not precious but tasty with good wine.

Thanks in advance!

Not many great choices here for a milestone birthday. Ristorante Basilico in downtown Olympia would be my top choice for a true foodie. http://www.ristorantebasilico.com/

          I "third" Xingh's. What a gem.

If you haven't been to XInh's yet, you're in for a real treat. A gift certificate to Xinh's would be a fabulous present for anybody who loves good food. Delicious! And, Xinh is great.

Since you mentioned Quality Burritos, several comments:
          (1) Not exactly the likely place for a "milestone birthday" celebration with a $100 gift certificate (unless you wanted to buy 14 burritos).
          (2) Bring your down jacket, and insulated gloves. The landlord won't fix the furnace, and frostbite is a distinct possibility......

Big Cicada RE: Steve in Olympia Jan 18, 2009 09:13 PM

IMO Cicada is the perfect place for a milestone b-day gift certificate, although i must admit i AM a biased observer.......as for Steve in Olympia's past posting, Steve, I URGE YOU to go to Cicada and introduce yourself to the chef there
