Dinner Options in San Jose for 8?

nomnomnoms Dec 27, 2008 09:35 AM

Hi guys,

I'm originally from the LA boards, but I am organizing a Japanese-school reunion in San Jose.
The problem is that I haven't been in Norcal for a good 6 years and have no idea what the options are.

I am looking for a fun place to hold a reunion dinner... for 8 people (it was a small school!), okay noise level, hopefully something a little hip (but not painfully hip). Most of us are aged 24-25, still in grad school or just started working, so our budgets are... Not that glamorous, to put it in better words.

Thought? Suggestions? I'll take anything really. Thanks in advance!

Two places I can think of that are good. One is Hawgs Seafood Bar restaurant on Second St. in downtown San Jose. The chipino is to die for!

The second I haven't gone to myself, but my daughter and her friends rave about.
Blowfish Sushi, it's hip and the food is supposed to be really good.

    Here's links to each-

Might look into Hukilau, Hawaiian in SJ's J-town. Comfortable and fun, reasonably priced, enough of a menu to fit many tastes, pretty good bar as well.
