Stones Public House in Ashland?

New to the area and came across this place online. Just looking for a good pub with decent food, beer and atmosphere.

Any thoughts from fellow hounds?

I love Stones Public house. I've been there several times now, gotten the mac and cheese, fish and chips, shephard's pie, irish breakfast and various apps.
Once I had the mac and cheese and the mushrooms were a bit gritty; other than that, every meal I've had has been delicious. It's a great winter dining experience with the large fireplace.
They also have a great Sunday brunch. I also give them points for being able to make a great pot of irish breakfast tea.

IMHO: Used to be way better when Matt Murphy was still cooking there. Now still OK, but not the same. Nice vibe, tho.

The food is very good with an old pub atmosphere. Dark woods, real fireplace. I've eaten from the DR and bar menus and liked a lot of it. Faorites are calamari, pork shank, fish and chips, corned beef and roast beef sand, , fries are hand cut, portions large. They have a well thought out draft selection, my current fav being Stone's choc porter. Sunday is the liveliest night with the blues jam.

I had a nice meal with good service in the "fancier" dining room, but the pub atmosphere and menu seemed great and it was very lively on a Sat. nite.
