My girlfriend and I are in town for a few days and I am looking for a nice place to host a birthday dinner for her and her family. We are looking for something in (or around) Salisbury NC. I am not very familiar with the area so appreciate your suggestions and help.

There used to be an italian restaurant in a former church near downtown that was quite good when I ate there several years ago. Not sure if its still around, but its worth checking out. I think the name was La Cava.

There is a new steakhouse that just opened in the Salisbury Mall. I have not eaten there, so I can't say if it is good. The Jasmine, inside the Holiday Inn, has a very good Sunday buffett. Casa Grande is the best mexican place in Salisbury and I have seen a lot of birthday celebrations there.

Also, there is a Japanese steakhouse across the road fron Casa Grande that might be a good place to go to for a birthday dinner.

Melia's ( SP? ) on main street just past the square is fantastic. Chef Santos in the District just down the street ( one block south and left )is awesome. Or Buck's All America Grub on Ennis Street.
These are all within walking distance of Main and Innes Street.
