I need a new 'old reliable'

My husband and I usually go to KCs Alley for dinner on Friday nights. Any ideas for someplace new - Ambler area and reasonably priced?

Depends what you like - but I have a couple of "old reliables" -
[1] Bocelli's - Plymouth Road in Upper Gwynedd - BYOB - awesome food but sometimes, you need to call early for a reservation
    [2] Mirna's - again - another BYOB - On 202 in Blue Bell
[3] PJ Whelihans - Blue Bell - for typical bar food - good burgers and wings
[4] El Sarape - Blue Bell - Mexican and great margaritas

I can't wait to see what goes in the "new" Broad Axe - have you heard anything?

I hope it's Belgian, need a great mussels joint nearby.

I'm hoping the new Broad Axe opens soon - it looks nice. Any info about the new wine bar going in in Ambler? Any idea of food, prices...?

According to something I read in the Inquirer yesterday it is scheduled to open in either February or March, but no details.

any ideas as to the style? i.e. Belgian?

Thanks for the suggestions. I've tried and liked Bocelli's and Mirna's. I'm always up for a a good margarita - are El Sarape's as good as the ones at Tex Mex?

Localgal - I like them but Tex Mex are also good. The + of El Sarape is it is only about 5 minutes from my house so driving home is alot easier - if you get my meaning!

Plus, with Bocelli's, Mirna's and El Sarape, I have been going so long and frequently that the owners and staff know me. So it almost feels like home when I go there. I guess that is part of my criteria for an "old reliable."

I agree, it's a nice feeling walking into a place 'where everyone knows your name'.
