A cold winter favorite...instant Iced Coffee

Now that it's time to get cozy under the blankets, put another log on the gas fire, time for a nice winter treat...instant Iced Coffee. My way.

Just take some Folgers Crystals (about a rounded soup spoon, not heaping), stir it (not shaken) into 18 oz of water in a 20 oz plastic glass. Add two ice cubes and imagine you're on a tropical island. Nescafe Clasico also does the trick. (Forget Folgers green-jarred decaf. Pure poison).

Of course, if it's after 8PM, use Sanka instead.

Any other users of the gorgous brown powder crystals?

(And why is it so hard to find Sanka nowadays...I have to get it at Wegmans? The usual Pathmark, Stop and Shop and Shoprite don't carry it!)

  1. a teaspoon or two in chocolate desserts really amps up the chocolate flavor without imparting a noticeable coffee flavor...or for coffee- or mocha-flavored recipes just use more.

    i also use it to flavor protein shakes/smoothies, yogurt, and oatmeal (sounds weird, i know, but don't knock it 'til you've tried it!)

    it also comes in handy for savory recipes like mole, barbecue sauce, spice rubs & glazes.

    1. As I mentioned before, I have glass of Folgers' Clasico, brown sugar, and ice-cold milk six days a week before my run or weight-lifting.
