Did anyone receive a special bottle for XMas?
I received a bottle of Laphroaig and a friend received a bottle of Highland Park 30 (both single malt scotches). Did anyone else receive anything special?

I finally got a bottle of St. Germain to play with. Although having taken a swig straight from the bottle under the tree this morning, I may just drink it like that until it's gone.

Wow! Both Laphroig and HP 30 yr are really nice presents!
Maybe you could share your collection with us over at:

I received a bottle of Sazerac 18 and a bottle of Gosling's Old Rum. Both of which have been sampled a couple of times at this point!

My in-laws got me a bottle of The Macallan 12. They know that I really like Macallan. :)

I got a bottle of Chivas Brothers "The Century of Malts". Really enjoyed the tiny bit I tasted last night.

Yep....cousin showed up with a mixed case of wine. We've already gone through about 1/2, but Wild Earth Pinot Noir won hands down so far. It's from New Zealand

My father got me a bottle of the Balvenie 17 Rum Cask. I've liked all the other Balvenies that I've had (12 yr, 15yr, 17 yr, 21 yr) so I am hoping that this will be worth it. Last year my brother got me the 21 yr Portwood. I'm hoping this becomes a tradition.

If you enjoy the Rum Cask, stock up. It's being replaced by the Madeira Cask.

I got my husband a bottle of 1991 Cask Strength Mannochmore (Signatory bottle, D&M exclusive) Very interesting and fairly tasty. He also got a Glenrothes sampler as well as another bottle of 1991 Glenrothes, which is delicious and always appreciated.
A decent haul I'd say.

Wow HP 30! I hope you'll report on that here or on your blog. I got a Germain-Robin Alambic Brandy XO (I'm on sort of a brandy kick right now) and a membership in the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, which will come with one bottle...I think it's a Benrinnes.

I need to get myself a membership to SMWS. They have some excellent offering!

I'm truly envious!
I "only" got a fifth of Bombay Sapphire, and a fifth of James 12-year old. Poor, poor pitiful me!

As a newly "outed" single malt lover, I hit the jackpot, receiving bottles of The Irishman, Glenrothes 1991, and Glenfiddich 21. Very much appreciated and should keep me "busy" until the spring, at least ;-)

Did very very well. A Bowmore sampler with 12, 15, and 18 years olds - Balvenie Doublewood - Talisker 10 - and a couple bottles of Alberta Premium Rye. My liver may not recover. Thanks Santa!

My friend Joe, who is the distiller for Germain-Robbin, sent me their Apple Brandy XO and the rare and extremely highly rated 2007 Syrah/Zinfandel Grappa 43% abv.

How were they? I got a bottle of their non-XO apple brandy (though not from Joe) and it was very good.

Excellent as always. I think they are making the best European style brandy in North America.

Christmas and my birthday are pretty close together, so between the two occasions I received bottles of Lagavulin 16, Highland Park 18 and Aberlour a'bunadh. Not a bad year.

It was more of a thank you present but I just got a bottle of Double and Twisted Light Whiskey from Marko K Spirits. It is a Whiskey distilled from a really good IPA and then rested in Oak for no more than 24 hours. It is my friend Marko's Thesis he is the 13th Generation distiller from Charbay (makers of Vodka, Rum, Amazing Whiskey, Port, etc....) It is out of this world! Herbatious notes and sweetness and hoppy, it is such an amazing sensory experience. I would recommend it to anyone looking for someone out of the norm - definitely unique!

Double and Twisted Light Whiskey? Sounds weird. Not much info available for it, but I'd definitely try it. Their Key Lime Vodka and CHARBAY Whiskey Release II are fantastic.

Yes both are amazing - you can find it at Beltramo's

I know that they are working on some other things as well. Charbay's Brandy I hear is amazing!
