Walnut Creek/Clayton Chowhoundesque

VIsiting my inlaws and would love to take them out somewhere in the area for a nice, chowhound approved dinner. From the limited places I have seen, there seems to be a fair share of chain places that I would like to avoid.
additionally, any ethnic lunch/breakfast ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    For pretty good Italian, try FIori on Clayton Rd in Concord for dinner and Hic'ry Pit on Locust in WC for breakfast.
