I will be going to Blue Hill for dinner next week. What apps and entrees would you recommend?

  1. I've never had anything there I wouldn't gladly eat again. However, the menu is extremely seasonal and dependent upon what's fresh, so it's hard to say what will be on the menu next week. If you go on a week night, Dan Barber will be in the kitchen in Manhattan. He's at Stone Barns on the weekends.

    1. Also, don't skip dessert. Their pastry chef does wonders. The Chocolate Bread Pudding should be there, in some variation, which is wonderful, as will there be seasonal desserts as well. I've had dessert many times there; they offer wonderful meals from start to finish. enjoy.

      1. I was there two nights ago...the braised fennel ap and "This morning's farm egg" ap are wonderful. As far as entree, I highly recommend the venison if available..if you're not into meat, my friend had the wreckfish and was very happy with it.

        1. I have had three meals there. The most recent was, by far, the best---it was also the first time I had their tasting menu. Perhaps this was a coincidence, but I think it has something to do with them using the absolute best ingredients for those dishes.

          1. I've only been to the Stone Barns location, but I'd recommend that you order the tasting menu and allow the server to help with choices. Our server was really helpful in asking what we did (offal) and didn't like (nothing), and the plates that came out were well-suited to my palate.
