Black Truffles??? Where?? Restaurant Specials???

  • 8

Last year my husband and I had the most amazing risotto with freshly shaved black truffle at Patina around this time of year. Since we're in truffle season and dreaming of that dish again, we're looking for recommendations on other restaurants with fantastic truffle dishes. Thank you!

  1. Hi ddsteller,

You might try Craft L.A. (call ahead to see if they have any Truffle dishes before you go - they change up the menu often), La Botte, or Drago Centro. I had some great Truffle dishes at all three restaurants recently. Enjoy~

        1. Patina is offering a black truffle menu from Jan 13 thru Jan 15 Check the datea and the site.

          1. I'll second Valentino. They always have several fabulous truffle dishes this time of year. Call ahead to check or look at their website.

            1. Angelini's has some amazing Truffle dishes. I have only had the White Truffle pasta, but I am sure that they have Black Truffles on hand.

              1. Thanks for all of the suggestions. We ended up going to Drago Centro on Dec. 29 - which was a Monday, but our wedding anniversary so we called around to see what was available. My husband spoke to the manager that morning who told him he had a truffle in hiding they would make available. There was a bit of confusion with the waiter who said there were no truffles on a lowly Monday night, but a chat with the manager cleared it all up. They made us a special risotto with the black truffle for $60 each. The manager brought over the lovely end of the truffle in its glass case and shaved it for us. It was delicious and made our anniversary a savory one. We're headed to Patina in January for the truffle menu as well and will let you know!

                1. XIV is offering black and white truffles! I ate there a few days ago and they had an option of adding on either shaved black or white truffles to any dish! I added on black truffles to my porcini risotto and my boyfriend added on white truffles to his A-5! You should definitely check it out!!
