Killington, VT for New Years
We are coming to Killington, and will be staying on the main road. I am looking for recommendations for New Years Eve for dinner and then drinks, music and fun.
I know that people said Woobly Barn or Pickele are the places to be. But I can't really understand how I can pay 65$ to get in without even an open bar. So I think that just for music, there must be something just as good down the road with music and drinks without crazy cover. We are in our mid 30th, so we still like to have good fun and feel like we celebrated a good New Year!
Thanks so much in advance!

I spent many a New Year's eve at Killington and always hit the bars for happy hour, then had a gathering at the ski house for dinner, and some cocktails. We would venture out to the bars after midnite to avoid the outrageous covers. There are some open parties at various ski houses if you ask around while on the lift etc.
You could try making reservations away from the access road for a late dinner in Rutland or Woodstock - should be plenty of recs on this site if you search for them, then find a quiet bar that doesn't charge a cover (Cascades Lodge?) for a few drinks until midnite. Then venture out to the clubs/bars for some music, or just call it an early night, get up early and hit the empty slopes in the morning - which was my preference when I was in my mid thirties.
