I'm having problems loading recipe detail pages on both firefox and IE (on a PC). I was able to get to the recipe of the day from the home page, but from anywhere else, i can't load any recipes. it just loads a blank white page.

any help?

      Hi:

      Please see this thread:

      http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/5827...

We don't have any updates yet.

Thanks! I had actually clicked on that thread but I only read the first post and decided it didn't apply. :)

Well, for the most part, that thread doesn't apply at all. This one has
slightly more information. The problem was fixed for a while but then
          they broke it again: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/577930

If you log out, you can get the recipes just fine.

The specific post linked to above contained the latest updates to the situation, which is why we linked to it. In the meantime, as of yesterday afternoon, the problem was fixed.

Sadly, your post in that mostly-unrelated thread doesn't contain the workaround to the problem. Nor does any other post in that thread. Since the workaround ("log out and then the recipes are accessible") has been handy each time the problem has recurred, since it's very simple, and since there is no guarantee that the problem won't be back after the next hamfisted site update, maybe it would be helpful to post it along with any "the latest updates is we don't have updates" updates?

At least, that's what I was trying to do. Sorry about that.

We'll make sure we mention the work around next time - good point. With the holidays, we're all around a little less than usual! The mods are able to alert Engineering when this happens to the recipe section and they do do something to fix it, which is what happened on the 26th.
