I am a big fan of alice medrich but find no recipe for this in her books. I am trying to replicate some of these that are made at a Boston area farmstand. They are very dark chocolate, are not too too sweet, seem to have cocoa flavor, walnuts but no choc chips., and are fairly dry and very toothsome.By googling, I found a Mexican Dark Choc biscotti, which includes cocoa powder and may fit the bill once i remove the cinnamon. Any talented CHs have a fav. recipe for this? Thanks much for your help.

This one uses "chunk" chocolate and suggests chips as an alternative but we don't have to use the alternative:

Don't let the image turn you off. The white chocolate is in the image just for looks
