Chinese Mail Order Ingredients

leverda Dec 21, 2008 11:32 AM

I am in Idaho, minimal local sources. Does anyone know of a webpage for ordering Chinese ingredients (dried red chiles (preferably Sichuanese), light and dark soy, sichuan peppercorns, rice wine, Chinese vinegar, black fermented beans, etc.)?

While I'm not thrilled with it, this one might help:

This website appears informational, not for purchasing anything. Or am I missing something?

Not a full "pantry" Ming Tsai is selling there. Mostly non-food items and none of the foodstuffs levarda is looking for.

Although this is an Indian food site there is a variety of Chinese ingredients for sale:

EDIT @ 8:18AM: For some reason the site can't be accessed with those links, but if you go to www.store.indianfoodsco.com you can view the inventory of Chinese and other Asian ingredients.

At Penzey's you will find the Shichuan peppercorns and dried chilis:

Try www.importfood.com They have a good selection of asian ingredients. I have used them for years when I can't find certain items and they've always been reliable.
