Good takeout near Madison Square Park?

Cheap Indian or sushi, but high-quality. Any ideas? Thanks. I'm staying at a hotel nearby.

  1. There's not really amazing sushi nearby but "Curry Hill" is full of excellent restaurants, most of which deliver or do takeout.

My favorites are Roomali, Chennai Garden, and Tiffin Wallah... I also love the sandwiches from a nearby cheese shop, Lamazou. You can also go to Eisenbergs for some old NY flavor.

In the neighborhood there's always Shake Shack, too. Pamplona has an excellent take out menu. And you can also get excellent takeout BBQ from Blue Smoke (they also have a great burger) or Hill Country.

    1. fortunately you won't have to travel too far for good, cheap Indian - it's SO freaking COLD tonight!

actually, they both deliver if that makes it can check their menus online...

      1. For Indian, try Sirtaj on 26th Street btwn 6th and Bway (closer to 6th). I eat there regularly and find it to be a great lunch takeout spot.

        1. The Haru location on Park and 18th delivers to this area. There is also a good neighborhood sushi place called Nomada 33 on 33rd between Lexington and 3rd (right across from 2nd ave Deli).
