A Christmas card to the board

You have all saved my hide with thorny food problems this last year.

I had to make a lunch for 120 (that was a treat) and have just had general questions.

I am so grateful for your knowledge and kindness.

Merry Christmas

Have a cozy, warm---and especially delicious---holiday, everyone! Thanks a million for all your help :)

I know what you mean, dutch. People here are so generous with advice, encouragement, knowledge and sharing their own recipes. I've also been the beneficiary of their kindness in a way I probably couldn't express.

You're very thoughtful to put up this note and remind us all what a great resource we have here, together. I hope you have a lovely, happy Christmas and I wish the same to all our friends here at CH.

Ditto for me! It's so great being able to swap advice with so many other foodies! Chowhound is a gem. Merry Christmas, all.

I was getting so bored with cooking a few years back, and now I'm renewed. I have more new recipes than old at this point. Bolognese lasagna for Christmas for example, and almost half of my Christmas cookies are not only new but sublime (Rum Raisin Shortbread, World Peace Cookies, Chocolate Gingerbreads, Lemon Stars). Thanks to all for my new lease on life!

This will probably get bounced, but the World Peace Cookies reminded me of a sign I saw at an anti-war protest several years ago: "Visualize Whirled Peas".

                Chowhound is a gem!

I got a Christmas card years ago with "Visualize Whirled Peas" on it. I loved it. I took World Peace cookies into work today along with booze balls. Some were rum and the bottles of Bourbon and 12 yr. old scotch were next to each other. I don't know which I used, but they were/are tasty.

To those of you who don't know World Peace Cookies, a must know, Google up World Peace Cookies. Dorie Greenspan's recipe is at Lynn Rosetto Caspar's Splendid Table website. I can't imagine a world without them. They are a major necessity at any time of the year.

                  Merry Christmas to all.

Just finished the last of the cookies (early this year because I was so late last year), and sitting down to write my cards out ; wanted to send one to all of you too. Still learning new things everyday, so thanks and enjoy your holidays, my friends!

Agreed--if all the gracious good will and infectious enthusiasm tendered on this board could be bottled and used in stickey situations of any kind, we'd be in Shangri La, wouldn't we?

If I may dutchdot, , I'm adding my thanks and good wishes as well.
