Garrett's. Multiple locations. Many like to mix the cheese with the caramel corn for an umami filled experience.

      Garrett's is so it.

I have to actively, consciously force myself to NOT walk in every time I walk by. That caramel/cheese corn is ridiculous, it's so good.

You know it's amazing when you think about it. We've got Alinea at one end at Garretts at the other ... and sooo much in between.

      Garret's is pretty much it.

Yup. Another vote for Garrett's. It's just great stuff. Oh, and their caramel popcorn is equally wonderful. Some people even like to get a mix of cheese popcorn and caramel popcorn, like gordeaux mentions; not me, I'll stick with separates.

You can order over the internet, but I like going to their stores, where it's made fresh as can be. You can find their locations on their website at www.garrettpopcorn.com

I am of the seperates fan - my tastes though lean towards the carmel crisp and when it is still warm - nirvana

            I agree.

In addition to the caramel popcorn, I also love their caramel cashew popcorn. It's not warm and fresh out of the popper - they keep it in the case, and I'm not sure if they make it only at the start of the day or what - but even so, the addition of the cashews makes it another excellent treat.

Garrett's is very good, but my favorite local popcorn is Popper-razzi, which is a small, one store location in Hazelcrest. Their "cheese kissed caramel" is to die for! I know that they have a web site and that they ship.

I live in Algonquin, and my husband and I have been known to drive to Hazelcrest just for some of that delectable popcorn! *blush* But that should come as no surprise to fellow chowhounds. ;)
