Incredible pizza at LaVilla in Morrisville, PA.

I drove over the toll bridge into Morrisville one night after work and decided to stop at this pizza place that I've been driving by for years and never stopped in. Lately, I'd been seeing a banner out front that said "Now serving Chambersburg Tomato Pie" and figured, why not? Worst case scenario was that it would be good, average pie that you find everywhere else.

However, it was terrific. I've had their regular pie and that was good, but their Chambersburg tomato pie is tremendous. It's called La Villa on Pennsylvania Ave in Morrisville. Nice, clean, family owned restaurant. Lots of other good food also and very reasonable. Everything I've had there has been really good. However, if you love pizza, you have to stop there for tomato pie.

  1. we went there last night and it was everything you said. Amazingly good pizza, great service.

We've had a run of bad pizzas over the past year or so and despaired of finding good pizza in this area, but the tomato pie was everyhing I hoped for in a pizza. Thank heavens! A place for pizza near us!

    1. That's great to know! I drive by this place often and wonder about it. I will definitely give it a try!

      1. Totally Agree! I had one of those Chambersburg pies with extra garlic and sausage the other day, and all I could think of was when I could go back for more. I'd like to think I've had some good pizza, but this was just the best I've ever had. A must!

you sold me, will be there on Saturday with my digi camera!

        2. I wish I'd seen this post earlier. We took friends from Boston to Papa's in Chambersburg, and it was terrible. They were staying in the Holiday Inn right next to La Villa, a bunch of the parents staying there (it was an Ultimate Frisbee tournament) went to La Villa and they tried to get us to go there, but my husband was set on showing them Papa's. So their impression of Trenton tomato pie wasn't good at all.

Papa's has been good every other time but maybe it's time to branch out.

Being a huge fan of Delorenzo's in trenton, it's difficult to find a pizza (tomato pie) anywhere close to theirs. I pass by La Villa every day to and from work in trenton. Tonight we tried one of the chambersburg pies. Even though it was a take out, and not the same as eating it right out of the oven, it was excellent. Maybe not a Delos, but a very close second. Will definitely do it again and again.
