Tacos de sesos?
Hi everyone,
I am trying to find an LA restaurant/taco stand that has tacos de sesos (aka brain tacos) made from beef brains. I know King Taco and Taurino's do. I'm trying to find others. Please let me know.
Thanks,
Steve

Grand Central Market has three stalls that serve them:
Tacos Tumbras a Tomas, Anna Maria and Roast to Go.

I heard an NPR story a week ago saying the FDA has banned brains.

Well, that explains a lot, but they really don't like to see political commentary on Chowhound. :-)
Seriously, my understanding is that the only organ meat that has been banned completely is the small intestine. Brains, skull, nervous system and eyes of cattle 30 months of age and older have been banned, but at the moment I believe these organs are still allowed from younger animals.
With that in mind, I'll offer a strong second for the explosively juicy tacos de sesos at Roast to Go in the Grand Central Market. This used to be one of my very favorite snacks in LA until I learned that brains are just about the highest-cholesterol food you can eat.

Tacos Mexico, a 24-hour chain, several locations throughout LA, but I think King Taco is still better.
Many random taco trucks carry them, but for stuff like sesos I think it is safer to eat at the larger chains (higher turnover = fresher ingredients)
