Duck in SD

Anyone know of any place that sells cooked duck that would be appropriate for serving at home for Christmas?

    1. How about a roast duck from Jasmine or Sam Woo?

I prefer the duck at the Woo to Jasmine, not sure how well it will keep between pick up, and delivery (to your table). Roasting a duck is pretty simple process, if you have a working oven, and as a bonus you get to keep the rendered fat. I wonder if one could procure duck fat in large quantities at the Woo or other establishments that roast a lot of ducks?

I regularly bring roast ducks from Sam Woo or Jasmine (bought before noon) back to Yuma and have them for dinner. They're fine and tasty. Don't understand why roast ducks stay fine and tasty for so long, but they do. Go figure.

I suspect it's because the higher level of fat compared to a lot of other birds.

      2. I've got a follow-up question. Anyone know of a place that sells fresh duck, for roasting at home. Goose would also be acceptable, and I'm also looking for pork belly.

You can get fresh duck at WholeFoods, I have seen fresh goose at Jonathans and I normally get my pork belly at Lucky Seafood (Ranch 99 is also a good option)

Call Whole Foods first before making the trip for fresh duck. I've had times where they would have it one day and be out the next (literally, the next day). Iowa Meat Farms should have frozen whole duck for roasting, too.

Pork belly is easily found at just about any Asian market (Mitsuwa, Marukai, Ranch 99, Zion Market).

99Ranch always has frozen duck for less than Iowa Meat Farms/Seisels.
