Good pub food in Village, room for 10?
I'm meeting up with about 5 to 10 former college buddies in Greenwich Village Monday. Can anyone recommend a place with a good beer selection, decent food, and good prices--preferably near Washington Sq or NYU?
Thanks!

It really depends on what your priorities are and what you mean by Room for 10. Firstly, if you have 10 people at Blind Tiger, you may be lucky enough to have two 3' roundtops to share... so that will be picking-style food and you may feel cramped. If you try Spotted Pig, you'll probably have to wait an hour (easily... more likely two!) for a table that size--and the bar area is far from spacious. On top of that, spotted pig is rather pricey. It's *very* good. But the prices are more in the fine dining range than pub range (rightly so, too).
Here's a thought in the opposite direction, and still not too far from NYU. Telephone Bar on 2nd Ave near E9th st. Respectable (if not artisanal) beer selection. Food's pretty good. It's not nearly as "gastro" as spotted pig, but it's solid. And the place is large enough that you can easily get a table with not much wait-- provided they're not closed for a private holiday party.

there is a semi-private room at DUBLIN on hudson for groups. they have decent pub food and are attached to a full on restaurant. call to reserve that space.
as mentioned TAVERN ON JANE backroom is another very good rec.
i would rec against BLIND TIGER....always very crowded + too small a place, so it would be hard to catch up easily.
