two completely different menus, dress codes and experiences.
are looking form something more casual (Cochon) or more elaborate (Galatoire's)?

You took the words out of my mouth. These are two totally different dining experiences, that I cannot compare them. One is very casual, while the other is all elegance. One is more "Cajun-inspired," while the other is fine-dining New Orleans Creole cuisine. How to compare? I cannot do it.

Now, both are good, in their own right, but night and day.

I'd do Galatorie's for dinner, and Cochon for lunch, if that was my only choice. Not that either would not do well, in reverse order, but they are so very different.

      Do both, and report back,

      Hunt

I would have to agree comparing the two is like comparing apples and oranges- Cochon is innovative and a little more New age for a lack of a better phrase. galatoires is just old school NO-I have had my better experiances at Galatoires- I just don't think I have ever ordered right at cochon!
