Lunch near Queen and Dovercourt, no Drake

I just found out that I have a lunch meeting today and need to pick a restaurant. There are only three of us. Preferably a place within walking distance. I have gone to the Drake in the past but their service was less than stellar. One time we waited 45 minutes for our food and all we ordered was a sandwich and a salad. Any suggestions?

  1. You could walk east for five minutes and hit The Swan, that's a terrific lunch spot.

Check out Vdara at Teacuseth and Queen. It just opened. I went there for dinner and it was great. Lunch menu seemed modest but intriquing.

I belive the spot everyone who works in the area goes to is called Cinnamon Girls. I ate there once and it was pretty fantastic. Veg and non-Veg options. Not Overpriced.

      2. The beaver cafe was pretty good when I was there a few months ago. It's on Queen and Beaconsfield I believe. It's a vegetarian restaurant but the food is fresh and good. I had an avocado club sandwich.

The Beaver isn't a vegetarian restaurant.

There is also Mildred Pierce in Liberty Village as well as Atelier Thuet.

        2. Cafe Bernate is a great lunchspot that is reasonably priced, quick with an extensive sandwich menu, salads and fresh homemade soups.

          1. Thanks everyone. Cinnamon Girls is a regular stop for me. Food is great and always fresh. We tried The Beaver. They had a large selection of panini sandwiches and really good chai tea.
