Lunch on Melrose

I am meeting some friends for lunch near Melrose & San Vicente. Any suggestions in the area?

  1. I like Taste and, in that area, it would be my choice.
Have a nice visit with your friends.

    1. The Creperie, Barefoot, Urth Cafe

      1. I love Urth but went to the one on Melrose with a friend recently and the noise level was ridiculous. It's a 'see and be seen' restaurant and my visits with my friends overshadow anything else. The one on Beverly is a little more relaxing.

yes Urth Cafe has great food, tea, and desserts. But I agree with you Latindancer...the one on melrose is always crowded...and it definitely a place to be seen.

Yes, you are right about the "see and be seen" crowd. I did recently go to the Beverly Hills location and it was a much better atmosphere - no crowds and plenty of seating. This is not really in the OP neighborhood though :-(

Comme Ca is a great suggestion for lunch (the onion soup is perfect for a cold day)! Other thoughts would be the always lovely Lucques, Melrose Bar & Grill and Red 7 (pricey but good Asian fusion from Puck--note it might be closed due to construction on the Red Building).

I just had Comme Ca's onion soup for lunch today. VERY disappointing. Avoid.

do they still have the cheeseburger at lunch and is it very good?????? at comme ca, of course.

                1. re: kevin

They still have the burger and it is a huge disappointment. Bland meat smothered in mayo and a crappy bun that falls apart. Considering the price, it is one of the worst in town.

            2. There's also 3rd stop and Mon Sushi, both right across from Cedars Sinai...

              1. Get U some slices at Vito's. Oh, maybe a calzone if you be real hungry. Nice place to sit, talk, eat. You can sit outside if the weather is fine.
