Casual New Year's Eve dinner suggestions

Looking for suggestions for dinner for New Year's Eve, not outrageously priced ( under $100 pp), where good friends can get together. It doesn't have to extend to midnight--we will probably adjourn to one of our places to drink champagne--in fact we would rather be done earlier on. We can't meet until about 7:30, which elimates the 5:30-6:30 specials at places like Grammercy Tavern, one of my old time favorites. Appriciate the help--since we moved out of state, I am not as current as I used to be...

I did Crispo for dinner on New Year's 2 years ago. They didn't have a special menu--no upsells and food quality was the same as any other day of the year.

Artisanal is doing two different prix fixe menus depending on the time, and both are under $100 pp. www.artisanalbistro.com

I've got reservations at Perilla during the second seating, and its only $85pp. I believe the first seating is around $65pp if that interests you.

I will have to look into Perilla. Artisanal is definitely a possibility. At the $99 limit is both Hearth and Gordon Ramsay's Maze. And A Voce is also $85. Among all of those, which would you choose for food and atmosphere?
