NYE dinner downtown?

Yes I know this is a very vague topic but here's the deal we have a party to go to in Soho but need to eat first and it's my friends' first time in ny (they're italian) so I would like a place within walking distance of soho so we don't have to worry about a cab (i.e. east village is fine), no italian food, not too pricey (~20 per entree or less please), something super cute only to be found in nyc, and where i can make a reservation. Thanks!!!!

BarBosso. Awsome brazillian food, and everything on the menu is like $12-$18. Dessert is great too. Make sure to get the coconut tapioca and the amazing passion fruit tart.

so i made reservations at mermaid inn just as a place holder, they're doing a strange $45 set menu which looks like a good deal but I was hoping somebody had an idea of something that wouldn't be doing a set menu?

Unfortunately, most restaurants do have set menu's on NYE. Good luck and keep us posted if you find something that's not prix-fixe.

They don't take reservations, but I can't imagine Freeman's doing a prix-fix, and it is one of those only in new york type restaurants, a perfect place for europeans

We're booked in Nolita House, they are offering their normal menu up to 10pm.
