Romantic Dinner in E. Village, Gramercy or Chelsea

My boyfriend is moving to LA for a few months for his job. I want to take him out to a romantic dinner before he leaves. I'm looking for a romantic, but not super fancy spot.

We aren't picky eaters, so I'm open to any type of food (with the exception of Indian). I would prefer not to spend more then $150 with drinks. Please describe the ambiance and type of food.

Thank you!

Go to House in gramercy park. It is like something out of a story book. Little carriage house that's not covnerted into a resteruant. Very romantic, small, intimate. The food is contemporary american/french-ish. We went there for our anniversary dinner and loved it.

Gasconge in Chelsea is wonderful! Super cozy french spot with a wonderful menu.
