Durham, NC-Take out taco meat

My family has decided to have taco night for Christmas eve--we will fix the vegetarian filling at home. But, is there a place I can buy (realy tasty) already cooked meat for takeout--carnitas, barbacoa, etc. It would make my life easier. Thanks.

My experience is that most Mexican restaurants will fix up up whatever you want. I'd go to a taco place that you like and ask them for the amount you need. I bet they'd fix it up for you. The ladies at Taqueria Rubio on Hillsborough Rd or the folks at Taqueria Lopez/The Best Burrito (also on Hillsborough) would be my first bets. But, I would try to place an order before Christmas Eve just to make sure.

Brilliant idea, Panski. Miss Tortilla on Hwy 98 is the place to go. They have everything you need, including the most critical ingredient, fresh tortillas. Their carnitas are unbelievable. I had to make myself a taco for the drive home because the tortillas were fresh off the belt and the carnitas were still hot from cooking. Amazing!

Thanks for the reply. Miss Tortilla sounds like the perfect place. I can already taste dinner--what a treat.
