Rumor has it that Pepsi is coming out with a "retro Pepsi" that will be made with sugar
rather than corn syrup. It is being presented to grocery buyers for a spring roll out.

I loved Coke when I was a kid. (Uh...that sounds funny, so everyone please note my upper case, "C".) It doesn't taste the same to me now; it doesn't seem to have that sharp edge to which many aspired, but which none could imitate. It was never the same after The Big Ole Formula Change. Is that because they switched from sugar to corn syrup? Did they do it because it was cheaper to produce?

Diet Caffeine Pepsi for me, in a can, half-frozen in the freezer. That's livin'. Well...that's livin' if you toss in some sizzling hot spicy blackened shrimp, right off the cast iron, some really good guacamole, and a little bit of the icy Widow Cliquot. :-)

Sounds like a great idea to me. I only drink Coke when I can get the sugar version (Mexican or Kosher for Passover), but I'm a Pepsi guy all the way.

I'll look for it, hope your rumor's correct.

For some reason the mention of old school Pepsi brings back memories of my older cousin(older, we looked up to him), who lived in the small town of New Waverly, Texas, pop. 426. He drank his Pepsi, peanuts poured in, freshly shucked. We waited by the railroad tracks, waiting for the signal lamp turn from red, yellow, and then green, meaning a fast Missouri Pacific freight was heading north, points unknown, in the mid-1960's.

There's something really good about that post. Usually, that's the kind of thing that you'd see blown up in a newspaper or a magazine, on the section chosen for the back cover of a book.

For some reason it took me straight to 1960's Texas, although being born in 1979, Episodes of Quantum Leap are as far as I've ever got.

Stock up around Passover time. The pepsi with sugar usually comes out a month before the holiday and has a different color cap than the usual stuff. I think the cap was yellow last year.
