Best casual date place?

  • 2

My boyfriend and I are young college students looking for a authentic New Orleans restaurant for a date night this Thursday. I live in Baton Rouge, but I pretty much know my way around town. We want a place that is authentic New Orleans cuisine, casual leaning towards dressy, around $50-$75 for the two of us, and wouldn't mind serving a guy who is less than a week away from his 21st Birthday. I was thinking Le Crepe Nanou, but I'm not sure if he would like it all that much or not. Input is much appreciated!

  1. Crepe Nanou is great, but you will likely have to wait for a table for a considerable amount of time and they do not take reservations. If you want to stick with that ambiance and French cuisine, you might look at Cafe Degas. or, if weather permits, Martinique Bistro is fantastic.
another nice option is Ciro's Cote Sud.
for casual and more NOLA cuisine, check out Cochon and Jacques Imo's as well.
your price perimeters are good if you are not ordering drinks/wines.
    have fun!

    1. Other options are Feelings Cafe or Brightsens.
