Restaurant close to Rolf's in Gramercy

laurian Dec 15, 2008 08:46 PM

I will be bringing my family into the city for our annual viewing of the Christmas tree at Rock Center. Heard alot about Rolfs for its awsome display of Christmas lights. We would like to stop in to see it and possibly have a drink. I am not so sure I want to have dinner there as it seems most of the hound reviews on its food are not so favorable. That being said, can I get some rec's on restaurants within a 3-4 block distance in any direction from Rolf's. Any cuisine except Chinese and around $40-$45 per person without drinks and tip.
thank you

Are you into Indian food? Saravaanas, a place with lovely South Indian vegetarian food, is on the corner of 26 St. and Lexington Av.

Paul and Jimmy's on Irving, which will be really nice because Gramercy Park does a nice little christmas display in the park..

The tree in Gramercy Park is lovely, and I agree with the suggestion of Paul and Jimmy's, which is actually on 18th St., just west of Irving Pl.
