for some reason when I post on Chowhound it comes up double spaced. This doesn't happen on any other website but I am not aware of changing any settings on Chow and can't see how to anyway.

It's probably one between when you post and when you refresh the page. After you post, the software actually 'fakes' your new post -- showing you where it would be on the thread as you're viewing it. If you hit reload, then you're seeing your actual post in the current thread. Sometimes in some browsers, that 'fake' post doesn't look right, but usually it's fixed once you reload.
