New Years Eve Advice for a UK CH please..

Hi everyone

As a Brit visiting Mahattan over New Years, I have absolutely no idea where to go and where to avoid. So I'm counting on you CH experts to point me in the right direction!

Ideally I'd like somewhere no more than around $60 pp inc. tax and gratuity. Cuisine preferably American, Italian or French. Fish and seafood are out due to an allergy.

I've pretty much worked out that Midtown is to be avoided. As much as we'd like to see the ball drop we don't want to stand in line to see it for 8 hours or so. A restaurant that shows it on the TV would be good but my guess is that would cost $100+.

When we have been to Manhattan before we have enjoyed Blue Smoke and Bubbys.

I have looked on Opentable and can see what is available - but without knowledge of quality it's difficult to book blind.

Any suggestions gratefully received - especially if you have had a great NYE somewhere you think might fit the bill.

Thanking you all in advance.
