Looking for Bahn Mi in Kansas City

The only place I ever found bahn mi in KC was at Vihn Hoa on Burlington and now they're closed. I know that Happy Gillis at 6th & Gillis has these tasty sandwiches, but they charge $7 - $8, whereas Vihn Hoa charged $3.00. Looking for a good cheap replacement.

Little Saigon Market on Grand just South of Third ST. sell them, but they are the pate and cold cut kind. Same with Kim Long at 5th and Cherry and Vietnam Cafe at Campbell and Missouri. I don't know of anyone now who make chicken or grilled pork ones to order. I'd love to know!

I don't remember how much they cost, but Vietnam Cafe does grilled ones if you ask. That's the best (and friendliest) Vietnamese restaurant in town, no question.

That's cool! I've not noticed banh mi on the menu at Vietnam Cafe; I've only seen people eating them. Do you have to just ask?
