Will be visiting friends for dinner Sat night near Fields Ertel & 71. Want to stay in $10-15 pp range as we will have several teenagers with us. This area has TONS of chain restaurants, but is there any unique Chinese, Italian, pizza, ethnic place that would have good cooking and menu that would appeal to 17-18 yr olds? Also, would like to take friends out for brunch Sun morning, something tastier than Bob Evans, Rise & Dine, or usual drivel. Kids will be staying near UC campus, so something near there or along the way would be perfect. TIA!

hey diane for the older teen friendly one i have the perfect place: TOOTS!

(in full disclosure my bro-in-law's cousin owns and runs the place, including several others in the south).

it's technically in loveland -- has a wide open fun atmosphere, it's full of sports memorabilia & the food is good.

here's the info:

if not for the chili, CAMP WASHINGTON CHILI is my go-to for breakfast for cinci-styled double-deckers & eggs w/ goetta:

She/they should try the chili. She may or may not like it but it's a local specialty and pretty out of the norm.

For brunch on Sunday, how do you feel about dim sum? I posted before about dim sum places in Cinci and got no replies (I was looking for additions to the three I know about), but one of them, Grand Oriental, is at 4800 Fields-Ertel Rd (just a few blocks from 71) and is very good. We took my mother-in-law there for brunch for her birthday in August. It's probably the nicest ambience of the three dim sum places in Cinci.

A good yet, inexpensive place for brunch, would be First Watch at Rookwood near Hyde Park( not too far from UC). Also near First Watch is the Joseph Beth Bistro in the bookstore.

Since you're getting some good Cincy recs (When I have to fly out of Cincy/Northern Kentucky in the morning, I make it a point to stop at Camp Washington Chili first. It's a must.) I'll head north and recommend The Breakfast Club in Lebanon.
