Lunch in mid-Wilshire, West Hollywood

Hello everyone,
I have a friend in from out of town today and we're supposed to meet for lunch somewhere between Museum Row and West Hollywood.

He has a discerning palate and he's never been to LA before. Any cuisine would be welcome, I'm just having a complete mental block right now.
Must be the rain.
Any help would be appreciated!

    1. tne Farmers Market at third/fairfax would be perfect if you don't mind the cold. i love going there in the rain, it's not at all crowded.

Good suggestion, thanks. Question though, does anyone have recommendations for particularly wonderful things at the Farmer's Market? Anytime I go, I always have something that's good, but I feel like I'm missing out on the item that's Great....

i eat there all the time. here are some of my favorite:
singapore's banana leaf- i like the paratha, the soups, the rojak salad, the curry puffs, the veggie curry, the fried noodle and fried rice dishes.
the korean place in the NW corner- i love their glass noodles, their rolls, and their seaweed salad, and their brocolli.
loteria- this is a hit with a lot of people, esp if you like mexican.
the new orleans place... spacing on the name... i like their po boy catfish sandwich and their drunken shrimp.
pompas grill- buffet - and really excellent, always very fresh. can wind up to be pricy if you take too much, they weigh it by the pound.
thees bakery- can't go wrong with any of their sweets.
bob's donuts- the apple fritter and cinammon roll donut are great.
sushi a go go- i actually like this place. it's not the best sushi in town, but it's inexpensive and never dissapointing.
moishes- really good greek food! it's cash only and you get a little attitude with your service, but it's worth it. the place next door to it is great too- it's owned by the same people.
little johns- great chocolates. great english toffee.
ok. let me know if you need anything else.

            2. Luques has a nice lunch menu. try the steak if thats your thing rather reasonable for that type of place as well
