Fasika bleh

I was a fan of the old Fasika but I never got around to trying their new Somerville location. Service is painfully slow, food is cold and underseasoned. Seriously, how hard is it to put your stew in the microwave and then get it out on the table before it cools down? My experience seems to be in line with the majority of experiences people have reported in the new location. Too bad!

  1. That's strange - the one time I have been to the new location it was fantastic. Service was fast, the food was hot, and really good. Sounds like they are being somewhat inconsistent.

    1. What is WITH this place? I'd never been to the JP location but went tonight. The food was just so/so. I got lentils with garlic and ginger. Quite bland for my taste... basically tasted watered down. The bread was not warm.

Other than the food, what's the deal with the divey bar nex tdoor, which is technically the same restaurant? I don't get it at all, and makes for an "interesting" dining experience. I swear, it's a front for something sketchy going on in the back. Was the old location like this, too? I'm so perplexed.

They bought the whole dive bar to put the restaurant in, renovated it, yet some of the regulars stayed on. To separate the bar from the restaurant proper, they constructed that wall.

We've had some pretty good meals there without any major complaints.
