Moulard Duck in/near Southern Chester County...?

I'm trying to find a place in southern Chester County or even Wilmington where I can buy Moulard duck parts . I've been able to find Pekin duck breasts in my local Super Fresh, but that's not what I'm searching for now. Any suggestions?

  1. Wegman's carries them. I believe there is one in Downingtown.

I looked for them in Wegman's/Downingtown just yesterday. They sell whole duckling from Maple Leaf Farms, and they sell magret duck breast under their own label, but no duck legs, which is what I'm specifically looking for.

Sorry about that. I've seen them at the Wegman's in Warrington. The will special order items.I don't know how long it takes.

I was looking for duck legs last week and found the same problem.

One of the butchers at Wegmans/Downingtown told me they recently changed duck suppliers and could no longer get duck legs. I then called Eberly Poultry out in Lancaster County. They said would not have them until after the holidays.

I finally did find some at Worrell's in Malvern.

On King Street in the middle of town... in the shopping center with Anthony's Italian restaurant and a Wawa.

It's about a block from Alba (and on the same side of the road).

Thanks!! That's JUST what I've been hunting for -- and worth the 25-minute drive if they have the duck legs I want. I'll call before I head out there.

      2. Activating an old thread.

The Giant in Kennett used to have frozen ducks. But now they are gone, hopefully not forever.

Any other places to find a whole duck locally?

And Goose. I want that too.

Found a freezer full of duck at the Newark International Market. All ducklings though. Decent price ~$18.

Deducting the price of all the duck fat I'll render, that works out to about a $12 duck. And then there's duck stock...so maybe a $10.50 duck.

          No geese, though.

Have you checked with the Country Butcher in Kennett?
