Late night in Santa Fe?

phantomviolist Dec 12, 2008 07:11 PM

Looking for best restaurant(s) still serving at 11pm on a midweek night. Any suggestions? New Mexican cuisine preferred, but I know beggars can't be choosers. Thanks.

Honestly, I don't think this is going to happen. SF is pretty a roll up the sidewalk place after 9pm as far as dinner is concerned - especially on a midweek night. 11 pm is lights out. Maybe a bar in a hotel, maybe some bar food. No restaurants, sorry.

Try the Atomic Cafe, its right next to Pasquals... I'm not sure how late they're open on weekdays but weekends they're open till I think 3 am... and Im sure we've been there late late on a weeknight too. I love their wood fired pizzas, plus you can get breakfast all day.

Good to know! Thanks for the info, ma. We aren't usually in SF at that hour, looking for food. I just know that most dinner places are long closed by 11 pm.

The silence here is telling. I agree with DebitNM. You might drive up and down Cerrillos Road and see if anything is open that late, but I'll bet it's only chain food. I love living here, but late night dining isn't happening at any of the best restaurants.

I seem to remember Zia Diner being open later than most. Try Del Charro at Inn of the Governors, small bar menu but they usually serve till Midnight.
I think Hotel St. Francis also had a pub menu that serves late.
Atomic is a standby, but also try Burrito Spot, near St. Mike's and Cerrillos. Good Mexican food, they are usually open til 3 am. I used to stop by after last call.
Pranzo used toserve a limited late night menu, but I haven't been there in years, so not sure.
It's true that Santa Fe closes early, but there are a few places that are open late, you just have to look closely.
          Hope this helps. NaCl

I dont know what people see in Zia Diner... I had the worst breakfast of my life there! It may have just been an off day or something, but yuck... no one at our table was happy. Its pretty hard (or at least I thought) to screw up biscuits and gravy, but they did... the gravy tasted like alfredo sauce with a little pepper in it.. perhaps they messed up and gave that to me on accident... well... I wont be back to say the least.

I agree. I go back from time to time hoping that things will improve. But, I'm always disappointed. They can't even seem to get a club sandwich right. But at least the service usually stinks, too.

Blake's Lotaburger has always worked for me late at night.

Atomic Grill on Water Street is open until 2am weekdays and 3am Fridays and Saturdays. It is the ONLY place downtown to get something to eat past 1030pm. Hotel St Francis has stopped doing bar food and kitchens close early at Catamount and Del Charro.

Any suggestions for somewhere with a lively atmosphere, maybe some music and a bite to eat at 10pm on a Friday night? Does El Farol serve at the bar past 10? What about Cowgirl? Other suggestions I've gotten are Del Charro or Staab House.
