starbucks 20% off

This might get moved to chains, but thought I'd post it here first.

I went to the Arlington Heights Starbucks to get my weekly bag of beans, and found out that all merchandise and beans are 20% off at Starbucks this week. That made my pound of Guatemalan just over $8.50. Not a bad price when you figure in the free medium coffee that you get with a pound.

There's a ton of stuff that's 20% off too. And if you have the Starbucks Gold Card (I recevied a free one, so I didn't have to pay the $25 initial fee), you get an additional 10% off. I got a half pound of Christmas Blend as part of a gift for my sister and it only ended up costing about $5.

there's a deal at Costco where you buy a $100 Starbucks gift card that is worth $150 in coffee. I'm not sure they're still offering it, but that seemed like a great idea although I'm not sure how many people are willing to plunk down that much in one shot.

The only thing at my Costco (and not at Costco.com) is buy $100 face value (on 5) gift cards for $80.

Which Costco? I was in store on Friday in the area of all gift cards...

Thanks for posting this. I have some caffeine addicts on my Christmas list.

I bought extra last night, because of the sale. It seems to keep just fine, so why not?

Starbucks is hurting. Between the economy and competition, they are in a bit of trouble right now. A lot of people are saying "Gee, how can I save $5 to $10 a day?" and the answer is often cutting out the 2 or 3 cups of coffee they get at Starbucks.

I remember they had 20% off beans last year too- they told me it was a Christmas present to their customers. Thanks for the reminder Bear
