      <content>For the cost of mail-order you could set up your own operation but it is an alternative.
I assume adam finds the mail price absurd which is why he asked about local pickup.

      <content>Yeah, I'm trying to avoid (1) the cost of mail-order, and (2) the time and seeming uncertainty, based on what the salumi web site says.  I've never had salumi quite like theirs, it's really fantastic I think, and ideally there's somewhere in the NY area I can go to pick some up, although certainly it may not be possible.  I'll check D&amp;D, but in the meantime, if anyone has other ideas, I'm all ears. </content>
