Doylestown area dinner

  • 9

As a Christmas gift for my brother and sister-in-law who live in Doylestown, I'd like to get a gift certificate for a nice dinner nearby. A search of this board turned up Arielle's Country Inn. Any other suggestions in the area? A nice, maybe even romantic, atmosphere would be a plus.

  1. In Doylestown proper, four recommendations in descending order based on the best food:

    1. Honey - International Fusion menu.
    Small space, modern design

    2. Slate Bleu- country French
Cozy space in the Doylestown Agricultural works,

    3. Ristorante Il Melograno - Northern Italian
Non descript space in a shopping mall
    Phone Number: (215) 348-7707

    4. Waterwheel- Continental,
    Country Inn with traditional furnishings

Others may have better suggestions if you go further afield, especially to Lambertville/New Hope.

    1. Honey is just about our favorite restaurants in Doylestown.

      1. I'd also addd the Knight House. Very romantic atmosphere, live music on weekends.

I also must give a thumbs up to the Knight House.

        2. I don't think you can go wrong with Slate Bleu, Honey or the Knight House. Unlike many on this board, I'm not a big fan of Il Melograno and the Waterwheel isn't a favorite either.

The Carversville Inn is pretty good, but not a place I would give a gift certficate to.go to. Stick with the other three or four that are recommended.

            2. Thanks to all. Still haven't decided....but nice to have so many good choices.
