Hamburgers in Orlando

  • 4

I went to Hamburger Mary's this week, and I think they've got the best burgers in town. I'm curious what everyone else has to say, though. My sever was a little heavy on the innuendos and at some points was flat-out vulgar, and I could've done without that. Great burgers, though. Everyone at my table that got one was really happy with it.

My last couple of trips to the Fillin' Station have been a real disappointment, as I used to love their burgers while hating the service. Now both seem to have gone further downhill.

The Five Guys chain was one of my favorites when I lived in DC, but I feel like the rapid expansion has caused a major decrease in quality. When I want a burger, I don't even consider Five Guys these days. 5 years ago, I had to convince myself not to go there on a weekly (if not daily) basis.

I used to go by a burger place on OBT between Oak Ridge and Sand Lake, Backyard Burgers, I think. They seemed to have a pretty solid fast food burger, but I don't know if this is still the case.

Any recommendations? I know the Taproom at Dubsdred has a good burger, but I never have felt comfortable there. Not really a "burger joint". My favorite burger of all time was at Melody Lanes, a bowling alley around Michigan and Delaney that has been closed for probably 20 years now. My love of patty melts and milkshakes was born at that bowling alley.

  1. You've named all the popular places, so I'll once again name my favorite: Fuddruckers at the Festival Bay Mall at the north end of International Drive. I haven't tried Hamburger Mary's or Johnny's Fillin' Station, but Fudds is far superior to Five Guys.

The Ravenous Pig is supposed to make a pretty tasty burger too.

I forgot about the Ravenous Pig.. that's an insanely good burger. Not really a burger joint, but that burger is ridiculous.

I've been unimpressed by Fuddruckers in the past, but I'll have to try them again

I can think of only a few that i really like. It seems too many people settle for flat gill burgers. I like mine flame broiled. So I will mention Fast Eddies in Maitland. And supprisingly Sonny's BBQ! I hate their BBQ and love their burgers. I used to like cricketts on south semoran but I haven't been there in a while.
Daytona has many good burger spots but we'll go there later.

    2. I'm currently conducting a "Best Burger in Central Florida" search on my site, and there have been a lot of good nominations (I also have a 50% off coupon for the Tap Room's burger that you can print out). A new place that just opened up is getting some good early buzz. Grafitti Junktion is in the former Midnight Blue (and more formerly Thornton Park Cafe) spot.
