Bars to have a private New Years Party

I know it's last minute, but I am trying to organize a new years party in Boston for 75-100 people. I am looking for a bar that will give us a cover charge of $50-$60 for an open bar. I know some people may think this is unheard of, but if you have any suggestions of bars that have private space please please please let me know.

  1. I did the same thing 2 years ago at Jose McIntyres near the Custom House. I booked it right before Thanksgiving so you might still be ok. It ended up being $75 per person because of the number of people I lined up (it would've been less if I found more), and there was food included and the booze was also all inclusive with no limit (although they handed out "drink tickets" that were ignored just to comply legally).

    1. As a member of a management team of a large restaurant who just went through this, you might be alright for last minute due to the economy. We had so few office holiday parties, the fact that 2 people were interested in our space for new years was great. If you can come up with a deposit for about half the expected take, you will have no problem. Try the places away from large gatehering spots. Try kenmore or somerville or anywhere not downtown. Possibly the new mj oconners in the westin or something like that. If you cannot put a deposit down this late in the game, most bars aren't going to take a chance on someone they dont know.
